Social Accounting Matrix for India 2003-04
Abstract:
The SAM constructed for 2003-04 consists of 73 production sectors, two factors of production and five household classes by expenditure levels separately for rural and urban areas. In addition absorption matrix at purchaser’s prices has been constructed for the same sector classification. It is important to note that this is the first SAM which gives the household classes by expenditure levels. Also in this SAM, separate rows for item wise distribution of crude oil, natural gas & various petroleum products at factor cost and purchaser’s prices are given.

The WTO deadlock
India believed that the Hong Kong Ministerial Declaration effectively addressed its core concerns. A major developing country coalition (G-110) came into being. All developed countries are neither opposed to agricultural liberalisation (the Quad—Canada, Japan, E.U., U. S.—has been providing support to its domestic agricultural lobby) nor supporting it.
